Additional Information
Georgios C. Batsis is a Machine Learning Engineer and Research Scientist with a background in AI, bioinformatics, and multimodal data analysis. He holds an Integrated Masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete and an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from the Digital Systems deparment of University of Piraeus and the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”.
Georgios’ PhD research focuses on Machine Learning for Drug Safety Prediction, specifically utilizing advanced methods like Graph Representation Learning and Few-Shot Learning. His work aims to predict adverse drug reactions and side effects in drug repurposing and polypharmacy contexts by integrating complex biological and chemical descriptors within protein-protein interaction networks. His interdisciplinary approach combines cutting-edge AI techniques with a deep understanding of drug mechanisms to enhance drug safety and efficacy predictions.
